Analysis of Athletic and Sporty Development in Provinces of Iran in 2005-2006

Because of basic role of athletic and sporty in improve the quality of life, nowadays all of country invest in this section. Various dimension of sport influence in society, insofar as this have been called one of important index of economic and social development. In order to recognize position of Iranʹs provinces in this section this article analyses athletic and sporty development of Iranʹs provinces in years 2005-2006. This descriptive-analytical research was included Iranʹs provinces. Data of this paper includes athletic and sporty indicators that provided from Iran statistical yearbook and Statistical and Information Department of Iranʹs Athletics and Sports organization. Numerical taxonomy method was used to determine the degree of athletic and sporty development by using 20 indicators. The results show that only Semʹnan is developed zones in these years and other provinces are undeveloped. In the other word, the most of 93 percent of Iranʹs provinces have not sufficient facilities in sport. The most underdevelopment provinces in this section are Esfwhan, Koh Kiloye, Kerman and Systan & Baloochestan. The finding of this study can help planners to reduce the level of heterogeneity between provinces and improve the quality of life in underdevelopment zones.
