Minbar-i Sahib al-Zaman of Gawharshad Mosque

The minbar (pulpit) renowned as Sahib al-Zaman (Lord of Time) is located in Aivan-i Maqsura of Gawharshad Mosque. This fourteen-step pulpit is made of walnut and pear wood, without using any nails. This artistic work has no date of construction, but it is probably made simultaneous to the construction of the Mosque itself and the name of its constructor is Sultan Hasan b. Najjar Kirmani Since long ago, the Shiʹas have assumed that Sahib al-Zaman (Imam Mahdi — A.S.) will mount the pulpit when he reappears.
