چكيده لاتين :
The Proliferation security Initiative, aiming to stop transfer of weapon of mass destruction and the related materials to some countries, which has been presented by the United States of America with the support of western countries in 2003, in fact this act, was for preparation of the ground to create some restrictions in the seas.
Since the Islamic Republic of Iran is one of the aims of this initiative, it is important to assess the relation between this initiative and the international law, particularly the Law of Sea on this regard.
In this paper, first the Initiative then its creation circumstances, the structure, aims and principles will be assessed. In pursuing, the reasoning of the claims for justification of the initiative has also been taken to notice and the relation between the commitments, due to this initiative, and the law of the seas is part of assessment. This assessment has been done based on deferent seas territories and the applicable rules. In the end, the issue of creation of new rules will be assessed.
