The Prophetʹs good character is an essential characteristic for the prophets and reformers. The good character is one of the most virtuous traits of the prophets and the most honorable practice of the honest persons. Thus, in several verses of the holy Quran, the Prophetʹs morality has been admired and praised. The adjective "tremendous" (cizTm) is used in cases where something is not describable or understandable. In regard to the tremendous morality (kholq-e azim), the commentaries have stated some points, including some which interpret it as the "religion of Islam". Some others have interpreted it as "Quranic ritesʹ or "Quran itself". Still others have interpreted "kholq-e azJm" as patience, tolerance and expedience according to rational requirements. Tolerating the hardships and patience on the part of the Prophet (PBUH) are stated in traditions. Although the above-mentioned cases are parts of the Prophetʹs morality, it is not limited to these and includes all his spiritual, social, personal, and humane characteristics. According to another interpretation, "the Prophetʹs tremendous morality" refers to his enjoying all noble qualities of character (makarim-e akhlaq). Some instances of the Prophetʹs moral qualities have been mentioned in traditions and historical texts.
