A New Outlook at the 1919 Treaty

Keeping in mind the role and situation of Iran after the First World War, especially the policies of imperial powers towards this country, the bases of the 1919 treaty are here analyzed. Then the text of the treaty and its secret and overt goals are explained. There is also discussion about the designers, the signatories, the methods used to get the treaty passed, and the modes of its execution. Foreign and domestic reactions are reviewed, Ahmad Shahʹs positions are reexamined, and the consequences of the treatyʹs passing on Iranʹs political instability are explained further and in a new light.
