چكيده لاتين :
Persian lexicons give several meanings for the word "fazl" and distinguish the different shades of meaning, by providing several examples and evidences.The article talks about a meaning of the word found in the lines by Persian poets and prose writers, but missed by the lexicons.
According to a prophetic tradition which defines knowledge as three things (a mighty sign, a well-marked tradition, a moral obligation) and puts virtue beyond knowledge, sometimes, the Persian poets and prose writers put knowledge in the domain of Qoranic sciences and religious laws, while according to the definition above, would use the word "fazl" in another sense common to the sciences then prevailed, particularly humanities, such as poetry, lexicology and grammar.
In the meantime, the article includes the correct form of a verse, given wrong in Dehkhodaʹs dictionary.
