بررسي ميزان مشاركت محققان زن و مرد در توليد مقالت علمي در مجلات هسته حوزه كتابداري ايران: مقايسه موردي فصلنامه كتاب و فصلنامه كتابداري و اطلاع رساني

A Study on the Extent to Which the Men and Women Researchers Cooperate in the Production of Academic Papers in Iranian Journals of Library Science: a Case Comparison between Faslname-ye Ketab and Faslname-ye Ketabdari va Ettelaresani

This article studies the gender of authors of articles published in Faslname-ye Ketab (Book Quarterly) and Faslname-ye Ketabdari va Ettelaresani (Library and information Science Quarterly) between 2002 and 2008. For this purpose, all articles of these journals, either written or translated, were studied and the data were analyzed using descriptive and analytical statistic methods. Findings show that in the studied period, a total number of 528 articles were written by 658 authors, among which 59.57 were men and 40.43 were women. But generally, in both journals, an ascending trend in the number of articles written by female researchers in the field of library and information science is quite obvious. The amount of multiple-author articles has also risen in the studied period but it is still in a lower level in comparison to single-author articles. Finally, it was determined that there is no meaningful statistical difference between the gender of the first author and other authors of the multiple-author articles published in the two studied journals.
