Although Indo-Iranian nations left their shared habitat after 1500 years and developed different and conflicting views regarding historical, geographical and cultural factors due to this separation, they have still preserved most of their common doctrines and beliefs. Causes of these commonalities and believable similarities between Iranians and Indians shall be searched in Avesta and two holy books named Vada and Rigvada. Vada, the oldest Aryan book of 800 to 5000 B.C., has been the guide of life of Indo-Iranian Aryans and Rigvada, a collection of 1028 religious poems, is the oldest and most important work in Aryan Indiansʹ custom. Comparing and studying Avesta and Rigvada can manifest some cultural commonalities of Iranians and Indians and old bonds of these two nations for us and therefore be indicative of some aspects of our cultural past. The present paper discusses these commonalities.
