Study & Analysis of 30 Silver Coins Related to Sassanian Era in Hamedan Museum Using PIXE Method

Elemental analysis of ancient coins can reveal economic and political situation and metallurgy of time of minting coins. In this study, 30 silver coins related to the time of Khosro Parviz II, King were analyzed using PIXE method which is a quick and nondestructive method and percent of main elements of these coins (CI, Ca, Ti, Mn, Fe, Cu, Ag, Au, Pb) was obtained. Proton ray with 2 MeV energy has been used in PIXE technique.
