The Study of Socio-economic Factors Affecting Social Commitment of Youth in Shiraz City

One of the main issues in the area of social sciences, and particularly the social sciences is social commitment of the youth and the magnitude of their encumberedness to the principles and rules dominating on the society. Without any doubt, social order as the co­operation and harmony between social system components are regarded as one of the basic characteristics of a society. This can be accomplished when the members of that society as the constituent elements of social system know their own duties and do them. The main goal of this study is the analysis of socio-economic factors affecting social commitment of youth. This research has used surveying method and questionnaires. Statistical society was the youth between 19 and 35 years old in Shiraz City. In order to save time and cost, we chose 400 youth in a random systematic sampling. For specifying the validity we used visual and structural validity and alpha kronbach methods. We also applied person correlation coefficient and analysis of variance for examining the hypotheses. Regression technique and trend analysis was used for evaluating research model. Findings indicated that factors like national identity, social trust, social satisfaction inclinations, political approaches and tendency toward materialism have affected their social commitment.
