Several analytical procedures have been proposed among which the classic ethnographic analysis is the most common procedure. However, in recent years, a large number of analytical procedures have been developed and employed to make sense of qualitative data. In addition, the computer-aided analysis is going to be widely used by qualitative researchers. The increasing interest towards using the qualitative research methods in academic settings of Iran not only stands for familiarity with this methodology and its practical design, but also it requires introducing and using the analytical procedures in practice.
In this paper, it has been tried to have a short glance on definitions, typologies, paradigmatic foundations and types of data in the qualitative research. Then, through using a comparative view, a set of analytical procedures have been introduced and discussed although some of them are considered as independent research methods. The analytical procedures explained in this paper are, Thematic Analysis, Narrative Analysis, Phenomenological Analysis, Qualitative Content Analysis, Conversation Analysis, Semiotics Analysis, Critical Discourse Analysis, and Critical Ethnographic Analysis. The focus in each analytical procedure, is on practical aspects and focal points of the analysis. The last part of paper has been devoted to observational data analysis.
