Citation Frequency as a Different View on Citation Counting in Research Evaluation

Citations play an important role in scientific researches and have been analyzed by many scientists. Citation analysis is performed by "citation counting" technique. While in common citation analysis studies, citations are counted based on their appearance in other publicationʹs reference, this study indicated a different contextual definition of term "frequency" among citations. According to this, frequency citation means "frequently use of a source in the context of a single document". We emphasized the role of citation and citation analysis in research evaluation then we inferred to the citation frequency analysis and its usages in citation studies.
