Good Governance in the Face of "Dede Korkut Kitabi" (Rereading an Ancient Literary Text)

The goal of this article is to study the signs and traces of Good Governance in ancient texts. "Dede Korkut Kitabi" (The Book of Dede Korkut) as the most ancient literary text of "Oghuz" Turks Language, consists of an introduction and 12 "destan" (stories) that is maintained from ancient times by "Ashiqs" or folk artists of Azerbaijan in the frame of oral literature and transmitted to the following generations. This research, employing a qualitative approach, used two methods: 1-Hermeneutic of text (Gadamer approach) and 2- Qualitative Content Analysis (techniques of deductive category application and inductive category development). For the comparison and confidence on text, we used three versions of this text: Muharram Ergin text (Turkish), Geoffrey Lewis text (in English and Persian translation by Hariri Akbari and Azabdaftari) and Behzad Behzadi text (compiled from variety of versions in Persian). By deductive category application of text, certain indicators of good governance in three main approaches managerial, economic and political- were recognized. On the other hand, by inductive category development, other indicators were also discovered that, beyond three main approaches, offer another new-in nature approach for good governance: Ethical approach.
