The Family Pattern and Gender Lifestyle in Tehran

The purpose of this article is identifying the existence or non existence of the relationship between family patterns based on gender division of household duties between male and female and lifestyle of non- new- affluent and new- affluent strata in Tehran. The main question is: In which model of the nuclear family (traditional authoritarian or participatory) there are significant relationship between gender and lifestyle in two strata? For finding the answer, information collection method of analytic survey with questionnaire tool in Tehran, as statistical society, was used. In this research, which was done in 1384, cluster sampling method and the Cochran method of determining sample size with sample size of 700 people were used. Findings from statistical tests with SPSS software showed that with change in family pattern from authoritarian - traditional nuclear to participatory nuclear in new - affluent group, family pattern will have significant relationship with general lifestyle according to gender. And womenʹs general lifestyle will have a tendency from vulgar towards learned.
