Egoestic Individualism and factors affecting it

The purpose of this research is to investigate Egoistic Individualism and collectivism with a sample of 300 university and high school students. Egoistic Individualism is when people are skeptical about social and moral orders and consider nothing but their own benefits. In other words it is referred to the perfect pursuit of individual goals instead collective ones. From the 300 respondents 48 % were males and 52 % were females. From these, 50 % were students at high school and 50 % were university students, with the average age of 20 years old. The findings indicate that the mean for Egoistic Individualism on a scale of 0-4 (0 for collectivism and 4 for individualism) is about 2.7. Between the rate of Egoistic Individualism variable and satisfaction, sense of inequality, socialization in family, economical problems, age, coordination between goals and means, education and socialization variables, a positive relationship exists. The acquired R2 is equal to 0.55.
