An Analysis of the Personality Traits and the Professional and Scientific Qualifications of Successful Counselors from the Perspective of the Counselors Society of Tehran and Suburb

The main objective of the present study is to analyze the personality traits and professional and scientific qualifications of successful and unsuccessful counselors. The population of the research consisted of all faculty members of universities, psychologists, counselors being employed in both public and private sectors of Tehran Province and suburbs. 400 were selected using simple and stratified random sampling. A 36 item questionnaire was administered to measure their personality traits and professional and scientific qualifications. The findings indicated that: 1) there is a significant difference between the mean observed ranks of the successful counselor and unsuccessful ones from their personality traitʹs perspective. 2) There is a meaningful difference between the mean observed ranks among successful counselors and unsuccessful ones from their qualificationsʹ perspective.
