The Study of Conservation of Urban Identity in the Renovation and Revitalization of Historical Area (Case study: Gur- Firouzabad City)

In renovation and revitalization of cityʹs historical area the emphasis is on identity and indication of culture of that city. The purpose of this study is to investigate problems and to provide of strategies for conservation and creation of identity for Firouzabad by renovation and revitalization of historical area in Gur city. Gur city is the first Iranian circle city in Sassanid period which located periphery of presently Firouzabad city in the Fars Province. In this study along with realizing the importance of Gur historical area by descriptive-analysis method and "SWOT"technique and also using methods for effective handling and renovation and revitalization of Firouzabad historical area as indenialde identity and heritage have been studied. Results of this study show rendering Firouzabad urban development plans regardless of to Gur city. However, growth and urbanization development, provide the architectural ideas and urbanism and population increase in Firouzabad all of which causing the ignorance in renovation and revitalization of Gur city.
