Climatourism Classification of Arasbaran Region by The Use of TCI Index

In this paper the climatourism of Arasbaran region has been assessed by the use of climate tourism index of Mieczkowski. This index investigates climate conditions for systematic tourism. For the calculation of this index we have used parameters such as mean maximum daily temperature, mean daily temperature, minimum relative humidity, mean daily relative humidity, precipitation, total sunshine and wind speed. We pointed indexes for 5 synoptic stations for the statistical period (1986-2006). The results were entered in GIS environment (Geographic Information Systems) and the classification of climatourism conditions of Arasbaran region was carried out through GIS Maps. Findings indicated that climatourism index of the region has high variety and months of June, July, August, and September with TCI value between 90 and 100 have the best conditions in view of comfortable climate and months of December, January, February, in all stations under study have less comfortable conditions for tourism.
