Earning Quality Based on Corporate Investment Decisions within the Companies Listed in Tehran Stock Exchange

This research investigates the relationship between earning quality based on corporate investment decisions and earnings persistence within the companies listed in Tehran stock exchange. The goal of this study is determining the measure of earnings quality. For this purpose, earnings quality will calculated based on labor and capital investment, then itʹs relationship with earnings persistence will be tested by panel data model. The results show that there is a significant relationship between earnings quality and earning persistence in both ex-post model and ex-ante model. In ex-post model financial rates were used and in ex-ante model, time-series regressions were used for calculating earning quality based on investing. Statistical population is companies listed in Tehran stock exchange during 1999-2007 and accruals, stock returns and dividends are control variables.
