The Comparison Between the Interesting Rate and the Motivational Factors in Iranian and Korean Handball National Players

The purpose of this study is to compare the handball participatory interesting rate and the motivational factors affecting Iranian and Korean national players about participating in handball. The research method is causal - comparative. All the players of both countries (28 persons) participated in 13th Asian Menʹs championship were selected as a population of this study. Two Standard Participant Motivations Questionnaire (PMQ), Action Sport participatory Fandom Questionnaire (ASPFQ) and demographics questionnaire were used as a research instruments. The descriptive statistics (f-frequency distribution, percentage, mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (Analysis of Variance "ANOVA", Pearson Correlation Coefficient and Multivariate Analysis of Variance "MANOVA") were used in the present study. ANOVA showed that there was a significant difference on motivational level between Iranian and Korean participants (F = 8.558, P = 0.000).0n the basis of the ,results of Pearson Correlation Coefficient, there were significant relationships between eight motivational factors and individualsʹ interesting rate about participating in sport activity for both country participants (p<0.01 & p<0.05). On the basis of the results of MANOVA, there were significant differences on nationality and players participating in Handball sport (F = 15.569, P = 0.001). To increase handball participatory rate and interesting development to this sport in Iran, we need the strategic planning in the base of motivational factors preferences by Iranian national team players and comparing them to Korean playersʹ priorities.
