Quality Management in Higher Education & Its Impact on Knowledge Creation

Higher education system has a crucial role for creating knowledge in every society. Higher education systems and structures need to be changed basically for knowledge creation. Change factors involve: policy-making, cooperation of professors and students, changes in educational structures, management attitudes, course syllabsuses, plans and policies, which will facilitate knowledge creation. Total quality management as an organizational culture can make way for creating knowledge. The goal of implementing TQM in organizations is to include all ranks of employees -from high levels to low levels- in satisfying customers by providing qualitative services. This paper describes the mission of educational organizations and the mechanisms of TQM in order to accomplish this goal and create knowledge.
