Knowledge, Attitudes and Practice of Dental Students about Infection Control

Background and objective: Dental healthcare workers and their patients are at high risk of infection since they are often exposed to blood and other body fluids. This study evaluated the level of knowledge, attitude and behaviors regarding infection control of Dental students in prosthetic department of Guilan dental school. Materials and methods: This study is descriptive and crosses- sectional. A questionnaire was designed to survey knowledge and attitudes. Practice was studied by observation. Results: The Maximum point of belong the knowledge, Attitude and practices was reported for the students of 12 term, the minimum point of belong the knowledge and attitude the students of 10 term, and minimum point of practice be long to the students of 8 term on the filed. Conclusion: Finding show lack of knowledge about infection control principles, but about attitude, finding are more positive and students tend to learn more. . And it will need surveillance on practice.
