In order to evaluate fleece characteristics, wool samples were collected from 176 ArkhamerinoxGhezel (ARG) and 80 ArkhamerinoxMoghani (ARM) 7-15 month-old F1 crosses. Samples were collected in spring from right midside during a period of three years (1999-2001). Fleece characteristics were Fiber diameter (FD), Fiber diameter variability (CV), Staple length (SL) and Kemp percentage (KP). The secondary to primary ratio of follicles (S/P) measured in 40 ARG and 40 ARM tow year-old ewes. Differences between genotype, sex, birth year and type were analyzed in Fls by least square procedure with SAS6.12 package. The genotype had an significant effect on FD (P<0.05). ARM crosses had finner wool. Sex significantly affected FD, CV and SL (P<0.05), females had finner wool with higher CV and longer staple. Year of birth had significant effect on SL (P<0.05). Fls which born in 2000 had shorter staples. Type of birth had no significant effect on fleece characteristics. Tow genotypes had no significant difference in S/P ratio. VetJ.of Islamic.Azad.
