Good name and Opprobrium in Shahname

Ferdowsi in his book continuously seeks the ways of acquiring good name, wisdom, justice whilst he prizes the grate human values. One of the human grate values in his perspective is the good name and reputation which is not gained only through warfare but also having characteristics such as bravery along with treasure, purple, race and wisdom. In fact these are the main characteristics of heroes in Shahname. Heroes are ranking based on these traits and they frequently dishonor each other on the lack of social base, treasure or wisdom. Wisdom and justice are the main principles in Shahname and wise heroes are always prized. Good name is versus Opprobrium and this is always a threat for good name to become Opprobrium. In this study we investigate the good name and Opprobrium according to the Ferdowsifs perspective in Shahname.
