Social Trust and its Affecting Parameters among Garmsar Town People

Social trust as a key concept has been investigated in present research, which is in social science. Historical and social characteristics of G.T people from the trible and family point of view and two great universities (Azad & Payame-noor) establishment resulted in social trust decline to strangers. So studying social trust in this town is one of social development prerequisites. It has been regarded by social scientists on sociology, social psychology, economics and politics from early stage of social science development. Although, these persons pay different levels of attention to this point both qualitatively and quantitatively, their findings have helped in gaining richer literature of trust, theoretically and empirically.Measurement method has been used in this regard through which data are collected using questionnaires and direct interviews. People living in Garmsar and with 16-65 age range were interviewed for this purpose. Gannsar Town is considered as analysis unit and individual as observation unit. Sample size is 200 individuals which have been selected based on Kokran Formula and Correction Relationship. One-variable analysis and average and frequencies analysis is used to describe data and distribution process of under-study variable has been explained among interviewers using one-variable tables. Two-variables and multi-variable explanations have been used for data analysis. Also, since different variables have different grades in measuring level, Gamma Grading Test has been used in this regard. In this research, social trust index consists of three separate indexes as follows: trust people in general, trust different social classes and trust different organizations. Achieved results from frequencies distribution indicate low, high and mean rates of social trust for about %20.5, %16 and %63.5 of interviewers,respectively. There is meaningful relationship between research dependent and independent variables at %1 level. The correlation between social alienation and social trust variable is reverse and rest of variables have direct relationship with dependent variable. High level of correlation with dependent variable were for variables suitable space for public moral, life satisfaction and social integration, the minimun level of correlation were for social security feeling, social alienation and social acceptance variables. Other variables were between these two groups.
