In the Computer Mediated Communication age, Virtual Reality ( VR ) as a technological innovation effects on human cognition. The discussion of the nature of reality and its perception leads to self- cognition or self- esteem which is an important element in human communication . Therefore this question will arise that, what is the impact of VR on self-esteem. Impacts of VR on understanding of reality in general and self- cognition or self- esteem in particular, considering introverted and extroverted characteristic have been measured by a two-group Pre- test and Pro- test design. Using Cooper Smith and Eysenck scale, also a computer game by which forming Virtual life, considering sex, computer game usage, age and birth sequence. 32 students of Social Science Dept. Of Azad University were selected randomly. 16 students were the experimental group, who were exposed to computer game and completed the pre-test and post-test scales , and the other 16 students were the control group who completed the Pre-test and post-test scales without being exposed to computer game. The results did not show any significant correlation between VR experience and self-esteem.
