A Theoretical Survey on Social Tension Resulted from Tourism in Maz-andaran Province

The consequences of tourism development is of high importance to tourism development is of high importance to tourists and the host society. With respect to the position of Caspian Sea and its beautiful nature as one of tourism poles in Iran and the huge number of tourists who visit the province, the necessity of conducting the survey on the consequences of tourism in Maz-andaran becomes apparent more than ever. Tourism development leads to some consequences in the host communities. Some surveys indicate the impact of travel on changing the tradition of getting married with the members of the host society, its impact on sexual freedom in the host society, its impact on increasing the age difference between couples, and its impact on the qualitative changes of womenʹs work independence. (Kousis, 1989, pp. 318-332). Due to lack of reliable and solemn data on tourists in Mazandaran, the article aims at studying domestic and foreign reliable scientific resources to examine social impacts of tourism development on Mazandaran province-especially social tensions based on review of literature.
