A survey of social factors affecting press studies in Semirom

Print-media as the one of the most advantageous mass media play a significant role in shaping public opinion. Press study is one of the indexes of social participation and indicates peopleʹs concerns about the society and their own social destiny. This article aims to identify the social factors that influence press studies in Semirom.The results show that there is no significant relationships between socio-economic status and press studies (gamma=0.154; sig. =0.072) and there is no significant relationships between the utilization of another media and press studies (f—2.7; sig. -0.046). However, variables such as trust in print-media (f=5.385; sig. =0.001), political participation (f=4.056; sig. =0.008), sense of social responsibility (f=8.92; sig. =0.001); sense of participation in social destiny (f=5.587; sig. =0.001) are significantly related to press studies.
