Reflections of the Culture of Islam and Ancient Iran in 6Vis O Ramin

One of the most famous verse romances in Persian literature is the story of kVis and Raminʹ. The importance stems from the role this poem plays in Persian literary history. In addition, one faces matchless lexical and cultural peculiarities in this story as archaic Pahalvi words and the interaction of pre-Islamic and Islamic cultures. The origin of the romance goes back to pre-Islamic era. It has been rewritten after Islam by Fakhraddin Asʹad Gorgani who has creatively depicted not only the scenes related to Sassanian and Parthian religion, custom and food but has frequently quoted Quranic verses and themes. The article tries to cover both cultural and religious aspects as well as archaic Pahlavi words.
