Effective Strategies for Retention of Knowledge Workers

Todayʹb business world is ultra-dynamic and fast chang¬ing in which uncertainty and chaos leads managers to confront with the challenge of motivating and retention of employees. Knowledge workers have attracted growing importance in organizations as they hold implicit knowledge critical to organizations in competition. Knowledge workers enjoy motivational systems, work values and interests different than ordinary staff. This article reviews the results of some researches on effective strategies for retention of knowledge workers in different countries with different contingencies, and examines these researches to develop some effective strategies for retention of knowledge workers in Iran.
