The Role of Shared Values, History and Culture in U.S.-Israel Alliance

Jewish deprivation and marginalization in Europe and their emigration to the American continent finally led to the formation of an ideology called Christian Zionism and political Zionism. The idea of Christian Zionism had penetrated American peopleʹs beliefs and culture after the formation of the Jewish lobby. Believing in a link between Christianity and Judaism, the Jews view the Armageddon as return to the Promised Land and arrival of a millennium of happiness as a divine gift for offsetting the age of anti-Semitism and Holocaust. Since the American Revolution up to now, U.S. presidents have shown sympathy with the Jews both in their declared policies and in their executed ones. The Conservatives and Neo-Conservatives traditionally and historically call for friendly relations with the State of Israel. Most of them describe the establishment of the State of Israel and its stability as a kind of war reparations and as support for the sole democracy in the Middle East.
