Criticizing the idea of the entrance of scientific errors in Quran relying on the phenomenon of meteorites

In addition to other rational and logical evidence, there is a consensus among Muslims on immaculacy of Quran. However, Dr. Soroush insists on the scientific errors in the teachings of the Quran and revelations specifically those related to meteorites. According to him, the unsuccessful efforts of commentators like Allama Tabatabai to solve these verses shows the opposition of these verses with scientific achievements which suggests the intervention of Prophetʹs knowledge in Quran stories! This article first investigates verses related to meteorites and show that they are far beyond the knowledge of that age. Next, it enumerates commentatorsʹ views about these verses and shows that they are incomplete. The point has been stressed that interpreting these verses as signs of non-visible action taken, beyond the science of meteorites, to drive demons from the heavens, is not opposed to material interpretation, which is related to the sphere of sense.
