چكيده درباره چگونگي شكل‌گيري و تحول معماري مزارها در جهان اسلام تاكنون چند فرضيه ارائه شده كه خاستگاه شكل مزارها را به اقوام يا سرزمين‌هايي خارج از ايران نسبت داده‌اند؛ و به‌نظر مي‌رسد كه در اين زمينه هنوز پژوهش‌هاي كافي توسط پژوهش‌گران ايراني صورت نگرفته است. هدف از اين پژوهش بررسي چند فرضيه مطرح در اين زمينه و نقد و بررسي آن و ارائه فرضيه‌اي جديد در اين زمينه و همچنين بررسي چگونگي شكل‌گيري انواع فضاهاي معماري مزارها در ايران است. پرسش‌هاي اصلي اين پژوهش به اين شرح هستند: 1 . خاستگاه و الگوي شكل‌گيري مزارها كجا و چه بوده است؟ 2 . روند تحول معماري مزارها در ايران چگونه بوده است؟ فرضيه مطرح شده در اين پژوهش اين است كه: چهارطاقي‌ها موجب شكل‌گيري مزارهاي گنبد خانه‌اي و سپس انواع ديگر آرامگاه‌ها در ايران و جهان اسلام شد. چارچوب نظري اين پژوهش بر اين ديدگاه متكي است كه فضاي مزارها گونه‌اي از فضاهاي معماري به شمار مي‌آيند كه پديده‌هاي آييني و فرهنگي در چگونگي شكل‌گيري آن‌ها بسيار مؤثر بوده‌اند. در اين پژوهش از روش تحقيق تاريخي ـ تفسيري استفاده شده و گردآوري داده‌ها به صورت اسنادي بوده است، هرچند كه فرايند پژوهش به تجربيات ميداني و مشاهدات پژوهش‌گر از بسياري مزارهاي واقع در ايران نيز استوار مي‌باشد. نتايج اين تحقيق نشان مي‌دهد كه نخستين مزارهاي طراحي شده و باشكوه كه هنوز ساختمان آن‌ها باقي مانده، در ايران طراحي و ساخته شده و شكل آن‌ها از چهارتاقي‌ها و در دوره بعد از گنبدهاي مخروطي‌شكل ايراني ناشي شده است.

There exist some theories about the formation and evolution of tombs in Islamic world, that prove the origin of tombs come from lands other than Iran. It seems that there it hasnʹt done enough studies and researches by the Iranian researchers in this regard.This paper aims at surveying some of the theories and produces a new theory in this case and also surveying the architectural formation of tombs in Iran. The main questions in this research are: 1) What and where has been the origin and pattern formation of tombs?2) How has been the process of tombs transformation in Iran?The hypothesis in this research is: The "Tchahar Tag" (quadric arch) was the origin of dome form of Tombs and then some the other forms with a dome in Iran and the Islamic world. The Theoretical framework of this research is that the tomb is a type of space among other architectural spaces, wherein cultural Phenomenon has an effective role in Tombs formation. The historical- interpretational method was used in this research and the data was collected through documentary and field study methods.The results of this research indicate that the first designed and magnificent tombs were built in Iran and its forms rooted from quadri arch and domes.
