Pathology of Community-Oriented Policing in Iran

After about a decade of introducing community-oriented policing in Iran, it seems quite necessary to evaluate I.R.I polie othoritiesʹ under standing of aspects and characteristics of such approach. The persent study aims at exploring the amount of knowledge and support on the part of outhorities of the community-oriented policing approach. It also seeks to evaluate the extent to which such approach has been implemented in Iran police. All I.R.I police commanders were the population of the study from which a sample was randomely selected. Questionaire was used to collect the required data. The findings of the study showed that the harms and threats associated with implementing such approach in Iran can be seen to affect I.R.I Police in different degress.
