چكيده لاتين :
Background and Aim: Cleft lip and palate is one of the most common congenital diseases which have many individual, social and economical impacts. This study has been performed in Iran in order to identify if genetic factors. Such as mutant TGF(33 are effective in creating this abnormality in Iran or not.
Materials & Methods: DNAs were extracted from the blood sample of 40 nonsyndromic cleft lip and palate patients and 50 unaffected controls. PCR samples were genotyped in exon TGF(33 by DNA restriction digestion method using Hae III and Hinf I restriction enzymes.
Results: By electrophoreses of samples only one rare Polymorphism variant was recognized, and all the rest was the Conclusion: There is no association between polymorphic TGF(33 and cleft lip and palate in Iranian population. Key Words: Cleft lip/palate, TGFJ33, Association
