A study on efficiency of context modeling approaches in Ubiquitous GIS

Ubiquitous GIS is the 4th generation of GIS. Context-awareness and ease of use are two main characteristics of this generation. Due to the importance of context, several methods are proposed for modeling it. In this paper after a short introduction to context concept, an overview on modeling approaches is done. Then an analytic comparison over the approaches is accomplished. According to the comparison, the most efficient method with reasoning ability is suggested. Our implemented application sample is witness of the reasoning power of the method. It is finally concluded that by reasoning some information which are out of reach of sensors can be extracted.
