A sociological survey about sexual inequality and its role in emergence of violence (A case study of Tehran)

This research is about sociological study on sexual inequality between man and woman and also its role in emergence of violence in family. Main question is that which social elements have effect on sexual inequality and appearing violence in the family? The research aims to study effective factors and presenting executive strategies in order to decreasing sexual inequality between man and women and some violence arising from that. For achieving to the above-mentioned response and considered purposes of the research, different theories about inequality between man and women and family violence were studied, different hypotheses about connection of different factors(like decision making on the basis of power circumstances, financial independence, sexual beliefs, division of labor on the basis of sexual factors ,menʹs ascendance and womanʹs submission, the coupleʹs different economic-social status, womanʹs sexual orientation, roles conflict between men and women) with family violence and its dimensions has been examined. Measuring method and questionnaire technique is used in this research. Statistical society includes married women and men of Tehran citv.3S4 persons of statistical society were selected through simple random sampling method. Achieved results show meaningful relationship between man ami woman, sexual orientation, sexual beliefs. womenʹs financial independence decision making on the basis of power circumstances, menʹs ascendance and womanʹs submission and also violence in family. Finding show, that sexual inequality and the violence arising from that is observed at families of Tehran city The violence was appeared at about 96"o of subjects of study and generally. u comes from men. Studies also covered amount and type of violence at high, low or middle classes in of families Tehran city. The results show that social and pwchological violence in (his city are more than family violence. Inappropriate positions for women mean concrete inequalities and in this summon men nun use more violence. The majority of persons ask for changing in sc\ual (mentation (religious jurisprudential rules and action).
