A survey on population and social aspects of marriage portion in Iran (A case of Tehran city )

The present research aims to study social and population dimension of marriage portion in Iran. Marriage portion means a capital that the husband gives to his wife according to their social status. It include of a house, gold, garden or some thing I ike financial benefits. This is a survey research and the techniques of data collection are questionnaire and interview. Sample size of this study is 150 files of women that demanded their marriage portion. The sampling method is based on simple random, and according to research hypotheses. Data analyzing is carried out at descriptive and inferential statistics levels. At the level of descriptive statistics frequency tables are used. In the analyzing of the relationship between variables, Chi-square test is used.
