Over the millennia many stories have emerged to explain how the universe it all began?! Recent advances in the way we think about the universe and instroments that can see back in time are bringing scientists cliser to the holy grail of science, a theory of "everything". Most brilliant physicists have struggled to find these keys to the cosmos with little to show for their efforts.
Now we are entering a "Golden Age" of cosmic discovery. After years of struggle, theoritists think they have finally ultimate questions, how was the universe created and what is its fate.
Yet only in the last few years have scientists been able to uncover the real answers. Some of the most sophisticated and expensive technology ever devised, from giant earth-bound telescopes to orbiting satellietes have been used in this giant task. The most fundamenntal feature of our universe, first discovered 70 years ago "Cosmic Expansion".
Galaxies are moving away from each other. The universe was once much smaller. Current observations suggest that around 14 billion years ago the universe was smaller even than the tiniest subatomic particles, and underwent a clossal explosion. The "Big Bang" clearly, any attempt to understand how the universe emerged from this subatomic state must be based on the relevant laws of physics; namely, "Quantum" theory. But by itself, quantum theory canʹt provide all the answers. The universe is, by difinition, everythings, space, time, general relativity is the best description we have of the relationship between these things, and as such, it must be taken into account in any attempt to understand the past, present and future of the universe.
Both quatum theory and general relativity theory must work together, now theorists have recently made much progress in making the two theories compatible, with startling implications for cosmology.
Cosmologists now believe a form of vacum energy propelled the "Big Bang" in the earliest stages, overcoming gravity in a process called cosmic information. What will happen? Countless of years from now is anyoneʹs guess. One possibility, however, is that there is a sudden outburst of vacum energy in the far future, triggering a new "Big Bang" and perhaps a whole new universe or can be
the end, which all religionses called "Doomday".
