A survey on the satisfaction and usage rate of students from central library of Semnan University of Medical Sciences

University libraries are the most important centers for information provision. They can play their role and provide necessary information for student researches through right planning. The present study aims to examine rate of satisfaction from different services offered in central library of Semnan University of Medical Sciences. It is a descriptive study done using survey method. The research population consists of all the students that are members of the library, of which a sample of 290 members was chosen. Data were collected by questionnaire. Analysis of data is made by descriptive statistics using SPSS. Results of this research show that 45/9% of students were satisfied with the offered services; 56/5% of them didnʹt know about computer system for searching the sources available in the library. Lack of update reference books, scarcity of Persian books copies and lack of computer systems were among the most common factors affecting dissatisfaction.
