To evaluate the effects of different methods of micro nutrient applications on yield and growth parameters of a corn variety (cv. Jeta) a factorial experimental based on randomized complete block design with three replications was conducted during growing season of 2008 in Tabriz, Iran. Treatments were six types of micronutrients (control, ZnS04, MnS04, H3B03, FeS04 and complete micronutrients) and three methods of application (application through soil, seed coating and foliar application).The results showed that the effects of different fertilizers and methods of various micro nutrient applications on traits like harvest index, plant dry weight and leaf area were significant at 1% level of probabilities. Foliar application of ZnS04 produced highest yield (16.04 tons per hectare) and seed coating with FeS04 by 11.85 tons per hectare. Foliar application of mixed fertilizer and ZnS04 had the most effect on plant height and 1000 grain weight and increase them by 19 and 28 percent as compared to control respectively. However plant from seeds coated wiyh H3BO3 did not produce ear. Mixed foliar application of fertilizers lead to the production of plant dry weight at about 335.6 grams. Zn foliar application produced maximum specific leaf area during growing period. Foliar application of plants with mixed fertilizers after 60 days had highest effect on dry matter accumulation as far as time and relative growth rate and leaf weight ratio were concerned. Thus, it can be conducted that micro nutrient application, especially using ZnS04, increases both quality and quality of corn seed produced.
