Designing Suitable Privatization Model of Agricultural Extension Services in East Azerbaijan province: Iran

This research aimed at designing a suitable privatization model of agricultural extension services in East Azerbaijan province. As the government attempts to transfer agricultural extension services to private sector and there is not a solidified and suitable model for its administration, transferring process and activities of established firms face complicated and ambiguous problems. This study was an attempt to solve these problems. The research started with literature review of models of privatized extension world-wide. After gathering some detailed needed information, a draft model was designed. Three types of questionnaires - after checking their validity and reliability -were completed by the target audience: consisting of authorities of agriculture sector in the province, extension experts and a sample of farmers. Finally after gathering information and doing agreement study between responses of three groups, the suitable model was formulated. This model included 17 sectors in details and a structural chart of an extensional firm.
