Grain Yield Stability of Lentil Varieties in Ardabil under Rain-fed Conditions

Lentil, one of the major legumenous crops, that is cultivated under rain-fed condition in Ardabil, Iran. An experiment was conducted in RCBD to study the yielding stability of seven lentil varieties in dry land farming condition at Agricultural Research Station of Ardabil for two years. Data analysis showed that variety year interaction was significant at %1 probability level. Yield stability indices used were Rhomers environmental variance (S2), Fransis and Kenenberg genotypic coefficient of variation (CVi), Wricke equivalence (Wi2), Skukla s stability variance Finlay and Wilkinson regression coefficient (bi), rank nonparametric mean and standard division and cluster analysis. Cluster analysis for mean yield and stability parameters grouped varieties into three categories. ILL 1324 lentil variety from the second group was suitable in terms of most of stability parameter and grain yield which could be recommended for the dry land condition of Ardabil region.
