In order to determine the amount of metabolizable energy of rooster diets with or without multi enzyme, 12 adult leghorn-type 28 weeks old roosters were selected and divided into three groups. According to NRC (1994) recommendations two types of diets, one with multi enzyme and the other without enzyme containing 15% crude protein were prepared. Multi Enzymes mixture consisted of cellulase, amylase, maltase, proteinase and lipase. For a period of 24 h, all of the roosters were not fed to insure that no feed residue remain in their alimentary tract. The first group of the birds was not fed any feed during study in order to estimate endogenous energy excretion. The second groups of four roosters were precision- fed with 30 gram of diet containing enzyme, and the last group of four roosters were precision-fed with 30 grams of diet without enzyme. After the process of feeding, excretes for 48 hrs. were collected from the three groups and analyzed according to AOAC (1990) for gross energy, dry matter and crude protein. Data were compared by using t-test and the results showed significant difference between the two diets (with enzyme and without enzyme) with respect to their metabolizable energy. The amount of metabolizable energy related to AME, AMEn, TME, and TMEn of diets without enzyme were 2854, 2915, 3180 and 3020 Kcal. and for the diet with multi enzymes were 2880, 2940, 3205 and 3045 respectively.
