Cost and Time Saving Study Resulted from System Change of Tehran Trash Collection and Delivery Stations

This research is for studying cost and time saving resulted from system changes of trash collection and delivery stations. After literature review, by using eight dimensions conceptual model and survey of 22 regions of municipality, data were gathered in four dimensions of time and four dimensions of cost The results of paired T test show that there are significant differences between cost and time consumed of traditional and mechanical methods. Moreover, they show that by changing the systems from traditional to mechanical reduces the duration of trash pick up, round trip, stoppage time and waste time. In addition, relating to four dimensions of cost, changing system decreases personnel cost, but increases payable cost by municipality, maintenance cost and investment cost. Generally, results show that for the time dimension, we face time reduction but for the time dimension, we face increasing cost.
