Investigating the Effect of Dividend Rate on the Performance of Accepted Companies in Tehran Stock Exchange

The main purpose of this article is to study the effect of dividend rate on the performance of accepted companies in Tehran Stock Exchange. For achieving the goal, the data concerning the return on assets, return on equity, markets to book value ratio, proxy for Tobinʹs average Q and dividend were tested in Tehran Stock Exchange from 1381 to 1386. The statistical approach applied in the present research is correlation analysis with linear regression and also variance analysis test using SPSS software. Furthermore, rationality of the regression equation and its coefficients were investigated respectively with F and t statistics. The results show that there exists a sensible relation between dividend and performance evaluation criteria in all the studied companies without considering their respective industry. However, taking into account the obtained correlation coefficient this relation is of a low level of assessment.
