Effect ivness of powder and hydroalcoholic extract of Prosopis farcta fruit sheath on epithelization of rat skin wound healing

Nowadays wound healing is considered very basically in biology. In this regard, trend toward botanical drugs in order for producing new drugs that are more effective, stronger and more salubrious with living body was considered by researchers. Therefore, investigating the effect of powder and hydroalcoholic extract of Prosopis farcta on wound healing is the aim of this study. To do so, 9 male rats (with Sprague strain) weighting about 300-400gr were selected and 8 circular holes with the diameter of 4mm were made at two sides of vertebral column. The rats were classified randomly into three groups including control, treat with powder, and treat with hydroalcoholic extract. The powder group and the hydroalcoholic extract group were treated twice a day and the control group was treated with normal salin until the wounds were closed. According to statistical analysis, macroscopic results revealed that healing of holes treated with powder and hydroalcoholic extract were faster compared to control group. It can be probably concluded that, the powder of the fruit sheath of Prosopis farcta and its hydroalcoholic extract have an effective role on wound healing.
