چكيده لاتين :
CYP2C19 is a polymorphic gene which is responsible for metabolism of several drugs including omeprazole. Three known allelic variants has been described for this gene: CYP2C19*2, CYP2C19*3 and CYP2C19*4. These polymorphisms result in reduced omeprazole metabolism and increase in the rate of toxicity by this drug . In this study 300 out of 1824 blood samples which had been gathered , were selected randomly. DNA was extracted from 10 ml of blood by salt extraction method. For each of the polymorphisms, PGR was performed by specific primers and PCR products were digested by specific restriction enzymes. The digested products were resolved on 10% polyacrylamide gel. For CYP2C19*2, we found 88% normal allele and 12% mutant allele, for CYP2C19*3, 86% normal allele and 14% mutant allele and for CYP2C19*4, 98% normal allele and 2% mutant allele in our study population.
