Supply Chain Flexibility and the Firm Performance

Lean and agile are not maturely exclusive approaches to consider supply chain flexibility and the firm performance and their application should be heuristic. Their merge might provide competitive advantages. In order to develop the market, application of these approaches simultaneously should consider supply chain (SC) flexibility dimensions. Those dimensions have more impact on market share expansion. It should also be noted that flexibility as a key feature of an agile network in uncertainty is needed in the supply chain to counter the uncertainty in parameters affecting decision making process. This paper introduces the supply chain flexibility extents and more specifically, it aims to explore the impact of most important SC flexibility components on the firm’s performance.
