Development Strategies for Human Resources in Electronic Industry

Human resources are among determining factors in the development of technology. Developed countries have put a lot of effort into protecting and upgrading their expert human assets. Considering the fact that the workforce in the countryʹs electronic industry is mainly comprised of skilled workers and simple labourers (45.5 % and 38.9% respectively), this study intends to offer a number of strategies to promote human assets in this section. The demographic composition of workforce in the countryʹs electronic industry (7.7% engineers, 7.9% technicians) is very much like that of developing countries and far different from that of developed countries the diagram of which is elliptical. Therefore, it is recommended to consider an elliptical composition as an ideal model for the development of human resources in the electronic industry. The strategies given in this article for the development of expert human assets include training prior to being involved in the business, establishing theoretical and applied colleges as well as inter-disciplinary courses, increasing the level of skills and techniques involved in electronic industry regarding methods and equipment, research development strategies including financial, tax and management policies to support electronic research studies and research centres and labs, increasing the number of sabbaticals and grants and, finally, directing the MA dissertations and PhD theses towards the needs of the industry.
